Astra Duo

Tjasha Gafner (Harp) and Helena Macherel (Flute) share the stage since 2020. Astra Duo performs in various concert series in Switzerland, France and Austria and are making their own transcriptions, notably of 'The Dance of the seven Veils' from Richard Strauss's opera Salome, Claude Debussy's 'Petite Suite', and several Shostakovich works. In October 2021, their first CD, 'Dances for Flute and Harp', was released on the Euro-American label Orpheus Classical, and their second album, including Mozart's Concerto in C major for flute and harp with the London Mozart Players, came out in February 2024.

 

Both born in Lausanne, laureate of the Leenaards Scholarship, alumni of the Juilliard School in New York and HEMU Lausanne, they also work together as part of the 2B Company theatre troupe for "Giselle..." and "Carmen." since several years.
